Vivian Scott Chew is a pioneering figure in the global music and entertainment industry, with a career that spans senior positions at ASCAP, Polygram Records, and Sony Music. As the Founder and Principal of TimeZone International, she made history by creating the first African-American owned business to offer international marketing and promotion services to recording artists in the late 90s. Her impact on the industry has been significant ever since.

VIVIAN SCOTT CHEW
Vivian ScottChew, originally from Far Rockaway, Queens, New York, began her music industry career as an office assistant to entertainment attorney Louise West and later as a personal assistant to producer Kashif. She made history as the first African American woman to become president of the American Society ofComposers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP), where she established the esteemed Rhythm & Soul Awards, running for over two decades.Chew’s career soared as she held influential positions including head of A&R at Polygram Records, where she signed reggae band Third World. She later became VP of urban music at Sony/550 Records and VP of A&R at Epic Records, where she discovered and signed reggae artists Shabba Ranks and Patra. Ranks achieved remarkable success, with his debut album winning the Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album in 1991.
In 1998, Vivian founded TimeZone International, a boutique marketing agency specializing in assisting US brands and artists in establishing a global presence. Its impressive roster of clients includes esteemed names such as Jill Scott, Jay Z, Toni Braxton,Cornel West, George Clinton, and Lil Wayne. VSCis an innovative trailblazer, making significant contributions to the global music and entertainment industry.

Vivian is Founding Partner and CEO of Chew Entertainment – a premiere event production firm. Its clients include the likes of The National Urban League, New Jersey Performing ArtsCenter, The Apollo, Jackie Robinson Foundation, and Carnegie Hall where she and her husband, Ray Chew, produced their star-studded sold-out concert series, “Night of Inspiration”.
